Cyanotype needlecase book

A unique needle case with the image of scissors and other sewing accessories set onto the fabric using the cyanotype process. The fabric is first treated and then the items placed on the organic cotton in the sun. Where the items are the fabric remains the original colour and the rest turns blue. The depth of the blue colour then develops over the next 24 hours.

Due to the nature of the process no two designs come out the same. The perfect present for anyone who sews or uses needles in their crafting.

The needle case measures 10cm wide and 14cm tall when closed and is kept closed with a popper. Inside the case are two layers of felt for putting pins and needles in and a small zip pocket for bits and bobs like buttons. The fabric inside the case is South African shweshwe and is cotton.

The case can be washed but with multiple washing the design could start to fade.
